Acceptable Use Policy

ChatDbg is a debugging and analysis tool for software you own or are authorized to analyze. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

Authorized analysis only

Only use ChatDbg on software and systems you own, or that you have explicit permission from the owner to analyze. If you don't have the right to inspect something, don't point ChatDbg at it.

In scope

• Debugging, disassembling, decompiling, and symbolicating your own Windows binaries, drivers, and PE files.
• Authorized security research on targets you own or that you are authorized to analyze under a written engagement.
• CTF challenges, teaching, and learning Intel VT-x, WDK, PE format, and kernel internals on controlled test systems.

What you may not do

You may not use ChatDbg to:

• Bypass or fingerprint anti-cheat systems (EAC, BattlEye, Vanguard, ACE, nProtect, XignCode, or any similar system), or circumvent DRM.
• Evade or disable anti-virus, EDR, PatchGuard, HVCI, DSE, WDAC, or other security software.
• Inject into or tamper with third-party processes you do not own or have permission to modify.
• Use BYOVD techniques, abuse signature chains, or use the CSignTool release-signing pipeline to sign third-party drivers.
• Analyze, modify, or attack any software or system you are not authorized to inspect.
• Do anything unlawful, or build tools intended to cause harm to others.

Consequences

Using ChatDbg outside this policy is a breach of the Terms of Service. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations. Termination does not affect the 14-day refund window in our Refund Policy, which has no exceptions; outside that window we are not obliged to refund a terminated account. Where a refund or chargeback has already been issued, the license terminates immediately per the Terms.
